2. Introduction

Action-oriented learning in the construction industry is the theme of the "WInApp" project.

Process-orientation in constructy industry

For several years there have been attempts at various levels to practice process- and experience-oriented learning in adult education in the construction industry. The main features are to be highlighted in this course unit.
Aspects of action-oriented learning are to be implemented in the training. At the same time, it should be shown that action-oriented training is not a fun event, but rather a well thought-out, target-orientated pedagogical training measure.

In the first part of this module, the basic concepts of "action" and "experience" are clarified as the basis of process- and experience-oriented learning. The importance of action and experience for human learning will be pointed out.

Action and experience on the site

In the second part, the origins of process- and experience-oriented learning provide grounds for their significance in pedagogical teaching-learning situations in adult education. On the basis of essential elements of action-oriented didactics, points of connection to the construction industry can be developed as a method for structuring teaching-learning situations in adult education in an process-oriented manner.

Action-orientation leads to solid skills

In the third part of the module, the various ideas of action-oriented training are bundled and a realistic picture of training in the construction industry with characteristic features is fixed. Based on parallel lines of development between action-oriented learning and the establishment of these training courses in vocational education and training, this module will summarize the special aspects of action-oriented learning implemented in the construction industry.
