6. Conclusion / Summary
Overall, the obvious "action" during an action-oriented training course with self-directed processing of a complete chain of action and subsequent reflection results in a variety of connection points to the construction industry. Action-oriented trainings are holistic learning requirements with attributes that promote personality. Thus, action-oriented trainings are a method how action and experience-oriented learning can be implemented in adult education and in particular in the construction industry.
The topic also shows that action-oriented trainings are not "fun events", but offers of adult education with well thought-out didactic concepts. However, this requires first-class preparation (workshop, space requirements, suitable materials and tools, etc.) and serious execution.
A relatively high level of effort (costs, personnel, further training, etc.) is associated with the high-quality implementation.
Therefore, despite the increasing level of awareness and learning success, action-oriented training still has legitimacy problems as an educational standard in the construction industry.
Perhaps the WinApp project can help to spread the philosophy of action-oriented learning.
