4.1. Fire walls

Fire walls

First the fire walls are inspected that separate the building into different building compartments.

The blueprints show that the fire walls are made up of lime sandstone and are supposed to be plastered on both sides. The fire walls are 24 cm thick, with a bulk density of 2.0 kg/dm³ (bulk density rating 2.0).

Brick was laid using regular mortar with mortar rating M5 (formerly mortar class MG IIa).

Walls were plastered with gypsum-lime plaster B3 (formerly P IVc).

On the ground floor the internal fire walls are interrupted by doors to the toilets.
